1bed/1bath apartment in Trastavere, Rome When1997 ReviewIn 1997, we rented another apartment from Vacanza Bella, in Rome. We also rented from Vacanza Bella in 1995 in Florence, but that apartment is no longer available. The apartment in Rome is still there -- Vacanza Bella calls it "San Francesco di Sales." "San Francesco di Sales" is terrific apartment. It is more expensive than we normally pay -- $1500 a week -- but the amenities are well worth the price, in my opinion. Actually, it is not the apartment we originally contracted to rent; we had rented a cheaper place, in the same district (the Trastevere) but Daniel called us to tell us that the owner of that apartment had not kept his terms of his promise to Daniel regarding the noise factor. Daniel therefore offered us the San Francesco di Sales, at no increase in price to us. His concern for the well-being of his clients on this occasion struck us as commendable. The pictures and description of the San Francesco di Sales apartment look exactly as we remember the apartment from 1997, so I won't go into any more detail except to say we were very pleased with it. It is very comfortable, also it is unusually spacious, and it has a full, very well equipped kitchen. We liked the district -- the Trastevere -- very much. It was an easy walk to shops and restaurants in the Trastevere. We also walked to the Vatican (about 10 minutes), across the bridge to the Campo dei Fiori and also across to the old ghetto area. Most other tourist attractions we went to by bus, which we found quite convenient. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
