Loft apartment near the Pantheon, Rome

June 12 - 19, 2005, week

Location

Great location within a small city block of the Pantheon. Very central location for walking to all major sites (St Peters, Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Campo Fiori/ Navonna, Trastevere). The staff of the agency was VERY helpful and attentive. The website pictures are very accurate. The stairs to the loft might be an issue for more senior travelers. I vacationed with my spouse and two children and was very comfortble here. Given the cost this is a real deal.

Nearby Amenities

There is a wonderful grocery store across the Piazza and a GOOD taxi stand at Piazza Argentina (5 min walk).

The House/Apartment

The apartment is very clean and simply but well appointed. The street noise is notable mostly around evening "rush hour", but closing the window mitigated the issue (this might be more of a problem when air conditioning is not called for). No trouble sleeping at night. Very safe.

Garden

None.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Simple furniture, as shown on the web site.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

One large (very by Eurpoean standards) bathroom. Shower wand.

Kitchen

Simple but usable kitchen. We cooked a couple of pasta based meals with much happiness. Two burner stove and a taoster oven. Small refrigerator that chilled very well.

Problems or Bonuses

We were surprised at how close we were to everything from this locale.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Responsive staff; we requested a fan to aide in moving the AC for the loft up and it was there upon on next return "home".

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Yes, really good home base. I might prefer the other apartment in this building as it did not open on to the street if it were fall so the window could stay open. I did like to be able to look out at the Pantheon Piazza though.

Things to do in this area

Il Buco is around the corner, I love this place.
