2bed/2bath apartment in Jewish Ghetto, Rome WhenMay/June 2005, 1 week LocationGreat apartment in the middle of of what is considered the Jewish Ghetto in Rome, Italy. I love it and stay there every year - especially because it is not in the middle of all of the tourist hotels!! But, it is within a 5 minute walk of the Campo di Fiori and about 10 minutes to the Pantheon. Apartment has a fabulous roof-top terrace. The apartment is decorated beautifully and the kitchen is fully equiped to cook a full meal and then serve in the spacious dining room. Nearby AmenitiesWonderful restaurants within 1 minute walk - great place in the same piazza!! Grocery about 5 minutes around the corner. The House/ApartmentThis building has been in the same family for 400 years - actually one of the family members is the person who meets you when you arrive. The stairwell in the courtyard was used in the movie The Talented Mr. Ripley - with Matt Damen and Jude Law! It is in wonderful shape - I have rented it more than once! Apartment is on the 2nd floor which does allow you to watch Roman life go by out of your windows! Great size living room for entertaining guests - large L-shaped sofa, one smaller love seat, several chairs - as well as a dining table with 4 chairs. This last trip I had 15 friends in Rome visit for cocktails! GardenRoof-top terrace has fabulous view of all of Rome - there are lawn chairs to set out (stored in the storage area on roof). Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasEverything was perfect!!!! Daily maid service - light cleaning, dishes, etc. Bedrooms/BathroomsBeds very comfortable - it doesn't feet like a rental property - it feels like a home. KitchenGood kitchen with marble counters - modern/new dishwahser and laundry washing machine - ice fridge and plenty of wine glasses! Problems or BonusesJust as great this time as the last! Agency and Representatives (and price)Doorways people are always very helpful and accomodating to me! Value for the price is excellent! Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would definately recommend this property and Doorways to anyone--EVERYONE!!! Things to do in this areaThis area is just perfect for strolling and discovering!! Beautiful churches around every bend in the narrow alleys - wonderful restaurants everywhere! Vecchio Roma - 2 minute walk - is a fabulous seafood place! San Daniele - on the Piazza - is great for lighter meals and wine.
