7bed/4bath villa near Castellina, Tuscany Chianti When06/25/2005 - 07/02/2005, 7 days LocationOur villa was in the heart of Tuscany, between Siena & Florence. It is situated on a working vinyard and was close to all the wondrful villages in the region. Nearby AmenitiesYou were about a 10 minute drive to Castellina in Chianti or Poggibonsi. There is a super grocery store (coop) in Poggibonsi and wonderful restaurants in Castellina. The House/ApartmentAs stated the house is on a working vineyard and has a wonderful view of the valley. It was very clean and well laid out. GardenThere is a nice sitting area right outside and a pool only steps away. The views were wonderful. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furnishings were very good and you can sit 12 comfortable for dinner. Bedrooms/BathroomsBeds were comfortable, 2 bathrooms had showers the 3rd a tub. There was also a shower in the adjoining building as well as 2 other bedrooms, in addition to the 5 in the main building. KitchenIt was a wonderful kitchen to cook in and the kitchen sat 8 at the table. Problems or BonusesNO SURPRISES OTHER THAN THE WASHING MACHINE IN THE BUILDING NEXT TO THE MAIN HOUSE WAS OLD AND SLOW. Agency and Representatives (and price)THE AGENCY WAS A PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH. WE DID EVERYTHING ON LINE BUT HAD A NUMBER TO CALL IF NEEDED. THE ONSITE CARETAKERS, WHO WE KNEW FROM PREVIOUS VISITS DID SPEAK ENGLISH AND TREATED US WELL. WHEN WE RENTED 6 YEARS AGO THE PRICE WAS $1800 PER WEEK, NOW IT WAS $4600. INFLATION AND POPULARITY I GUESS. IF YOU GO WITH 4 COUPLES ITS A BARGAIN. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?WE HAVE RECOMMENDED THIS VILLA TO 4 OTHER FAMILIES AND ALL LOVED IT. Things to do in this areaMUST VISIT SAN GIMIGNANO, AND EAT AT TRATTORIA CHIRIBIRI, VISIT MONTERIGGIONI, A WALLED TOWN. CASTELLINA IN CHIANTI IS A WONDEFULL VILLAGE AND ANY RESTAURANT IS GREAT. ALSO VISIT FOTO ATELIER IN CASTELLINA FOR WONDERFUL PHOTOS OF TUSCANY. VISIT SIENA AND FLORENCE. I SUGGEST TAKING THE TRAIN FROM POGGIBONSI TO FLORENCE. ALL ARE LESS THAN 30 MINUTES FROM THE VILLA.
