sleeps 4, apartment near Piazza Navona, Rome When2/13/02, 3 days LocationWonderful location 200 meters from Piazza Navona. We walked to the Pantheon, Fountain of Trevi, and the Vatican. Great shopping (lots of clothing and leather goods) at very reasonable prices closeby. Nearby AmenitiesSeveral restaurants, 2 coffee houses, ice cream store (gelati), a pub, and a newstand all within a block. A grocery/deli across the street. The House/ApartmentThe apartment is on the 3rd floor, no elevator. The building was in good shape. GardenNo outside sitting area. Apartment had a window in every room. One large window overlooks the street. Every morning fresh fruit and vegetable vendors opened their stands in the street below. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasImmacuately clean and comfortable. Nicely furnished with a pretty hardwood floor in dining and living area. Bedrooms/BathroomsBeds were clean and comfortable. Apartment is a one bedroom with a comfortable sofa/sleeper in the large living room area. Bathroom fairly large (water heater is small). Plenty of fresh towels and supplies in linen closet. KitchenKitchen is small, but adequate and included all needed utensils. Thoughtfully stocked with incidental items: coffee, salt and pepper, dishwashing soap, etc. Problems or BonusesWe had no problems and felt quite safe in this centrally located apartment. Agency and Representatives (and price)The apartment manager, Mauro Sacchetta Cali, was extremely helpful and speaks fairly good English. He provides transportation from the airport and to the train station. He even gave us a mobile phone to use during our stay! We all give our Highest Recommendation to him. He went above and beyond the call of duty to be helpful to us. He even purchased train tickets to Florence for us and brought them with him when he came to pick us up to take us to the station. I don’t believe we could have found a better contact in Rome than Mauro. He can be reached by e-mail at: omtour@omtour.com. (His response to e-mail messages is always prompt.) If we plan another trip to Rome, he’ll be the first person we get in touch with! Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Yes. We had a wonderful time in Rome and the location of this apartment and the apartment manager helped to make it so. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
