studio apartment, Venice WhenSept. 22nd – Sept 27th, 2001, 5 days ReviewThis apartment is a large modern studio apartment about a 10-minute walk from San Marco. I was concerned that it would be too close to the crowds, but it is in a quiet section of town. The décor is very clean and modern with extremely comfortable furniture, including the bed. There is a full kitchen including a dishwasher and washing machine. The apartment is efficiently laid out so although it is a studio, it does not feel cramped. There is also lots of storage. There are 3 large windows, which provide ample light and fresh air. Looking out of one of the windows you can see the small canal just a few steps from the building. There is a TV, stereo and the agency provides a portable phone. No AC, although we did not need it in Sept. The bathroom is small but quite sufficient. There is a shower. No tub. The studio is up 3 flights of stairs but they are "easy" stairs and we never felt winded going up and down them. It is steps away from a food market, various other shops and some good restaurants. We loved this apartment - great décor, great location, perfect size for 2 and not too expensive. The agency was extremely helpful and arranged for our pick up and our taxi to the airport (which picked us up at 3:34 am). One word of warning - watch out for the corners on the platform for the bed. The first day, I spent 5 minutes sitting on the bed rocking in pain after denting my shin on the corner. The next day I spent 10 minutes doing the same. FYI – we also looked at the apartment next store, Furlani 2. This was also a very nice apartment, which sleeps 4. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
