Sept 17 - 26, 2005, 10 days

Location

Grifoglia is set amongst chestnut trees on a hill in northern Tuscany. It is a real retreat, a place to unwind and relax. A truly stunning setting. Very peaceful. Fall asleep to the sound of owls.

Nearby Amenities

We hired a car and drove from Pisa airport. It was very straight forward and Kerry's directions were great. The roads towards the house are windy as you drive up through the hills but very safe and the views are amazing.

The House/Apartment

The house has been beautifully renovated by Kerry and Pietro. We stayed in the one bedroom apartment but as we were the only guests at the time, they gave us the studio as our bedroom which was very kind of them. We have a 5 month old son and so it gave us more room for the cot (which they provided). There is also a seperate barn conversion which has one room and living room/kitchen. Very peaceful.

Garden

Each apartment as its own patio with lovely view. Very nice shared pool.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

All properties are beautiful on the inside and out. Very simple, contemporary decor. Spotlessly clean.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Clean towels and bed linen.

Kitchen

Well equipped kitchen.

Problems or Bonuses

Fantastic organic vegetables and fruit provided by the hosts, a swing for our baby son and a great lunch on our final day with home made pizzas in their traditional pizza oven.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

510 euro for 9 nights.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Absolutely recommend this place. We will go back there.

Things to do in this area

Nearest town is Barga which has restaurants, shops etc etc. Pretty and only a 15 min drive. We did day trips to Pisa and Lucca also.
