Review 1741: Le Manzinaie, Apartment

Review by NAT from US

apartments on an estate near Montepulciano, Tuscany South

September 2005, ONE WEEK

This incredible villa with incredible hospitality of its owners Marzia, Fiore and Alicia situated in the perfect location of Tuscany. The closest towns are Montepulciano, Montalcino, Cortona, Assisi, Siena. There are two must see Abbeys in Tuscany - San Antimo and Monte Oliveto Maggiore that are close by.

Podere Le Manzanaie is a welcome home place. Our bedroom was wonderfully spacious, the kitchen was huge with all necessery things one needs to prepare a quick breakfast or a large dinner. Everything looks brand new and well carried for. Exceptionally clean and very nicely decorated with love by Marzia. It is Paradise considering that you are treated as a family not as a guest. Considering that there is a dinner prepared and served by the family on Monday night to all the guests of villa where everybody meet together and drink wonderful Tuscan wine.

Villa has a beautiful orchid with apple trees, pears, plums, walnut tree, and the list can go on and on. The swimming pool reminded me of Carribean resorts. It was the cleanest swimming pool I remember. There are chairs everywhere to sit down and relax outside read your book or enjoy a sunshine of Tuscany. I am afraid to miss any details but would refer everyone to check their website and read the guestbook.

Nearby Amenities

There are plenty of restaurants in the area that Alicia will let you know about at the your arrival and two grocery stores very close by.

The House/Apartment

The villa hosts about 6 families but the rooms are so well isolated you will never hear anything. We met our neighbours at the outside table where everyone shared daily experience of Tuscany or talked about the world. We made friends with people from different continents thanks to Podere le Manzinaie.

Bedroom is very spacious with very comfortable matrress. There is a TV if anyone ever needs to catch up on CNN. Bathroom is huge with jet bathtub and a shower and 2 sinks for her and him which is a nice touch. The towels brand new huge and everything is a top notch standards.

Problems or Bonuses

The hospitality was outstanding. From the beginning when we were greeted by entire family of Fiore Marzia Alice and Rufus the dog. We were given walk around in our appartment then information book on everything there to see in the area and how far it is to drive. The must see places. Grocery stores schedule and directions. The room had a bottle of wine ready for us and refrigerator stocked with breakfast food.

We were told to join everyone for dinner on Monday night. Sunday night our second night at the Podere we met outside with out neigbours from England and Australia and started a bottle on wine. Fiore seeing us enjoying it so much went to his kitchen and made pasta dinner for us brought out more wine and dolches. We parted at midnight after helping him to clean up a table.

Couple of days later Marzia made a phone call for us to Florence and set us up with Academia to see David. It was well needed after we saw the line on "unfortunates" without a reservation there. Marzia made possible for our new friend from Australia Mary to take a cooking classes with the chef from local gourmet restaurant.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I highly recommend to everyone if you truly want to expirience Tuscany at its best go visit Le Manzinaie. You will come back again and again.
