apartments on an estate near Montepulciano, Tuscany South WhenSept/Oct 2005, 11 nights LocationThis self contained apartment was in a podere at Montepulciano Stazione (1km) and 8km from Montepulciano. An attractive rural area. Nearby AmenitiesA small grocery and butcher 1km. A large coop 3km and a supermercato in Montepulciano 8km. The House/ApartmentThis was one of seven self contained apartments in a large farmhouse - a separate two bedroom cottage was also available. It was very clean, very quiet and very comfortable complete with kitchen, separate bedroom and full bathroom, bath and separate shower, lots of hot water and a great shower. GardenA great outside sitting area both open and covered, picnis tables, BBQ and a very large pool. Large garden area with fruit trees and vegetables where we were encouraged to help ourselves any time we wanted! Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasFurniture was in very good shape and the apartment was very clean. Enough furniture for two people. Bedrooms/BathroomsTwo twins placed as a king set up - separate if required. The bed was very comfortable. We were told it was an orthopedic mattress when we commented on its comfort. The apartment was beautifully decorated by Marzia (the owner). The bathroom in Edera (our apartment) was spacious. KitchenA very usable kitchen. Plenty of pots and pans and crockery all of good quality. However we only prepared breakfasts and light suppers as we ate out at great eating places every day! Problems or BonusesThe daily ongoing friendliness of Marzia and Fiore and their daughter Alice was outstanding. They could not have more helpful. Fiore with frequent cappucino whenever we showed up and Marzia with the special dinner were very pleasant surprises. Their helpful hints on where to go and where to eat were very helpful. Agency and Representatives (and price)Done by internet ... price quoted and price paid were exact. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?YES and YES - we would stay here again, we recommend this place!! No qualifications. A very relaxing property in a great location for doing day trips to all of the interesting hilltop towns and villages all around. Great wine country! Montepulciano and Montalcino both very close. We found it very convenient to take the train to Siena from Montepulciano Stazione 1 km away. A great holiday ... Bella Toscana! Things to do in this areaMontepulciano, Montichiello, Pienza, Cortona, Sinalunga, Siena, great eating places ... ask Marzia, she knows them all!!!!
