3bed/3bath apartment near the Duomo, Florence WhenMay 2005, 1 month ReviewThe Giotto apartment is located in an old building with an inner courtyard and a stone staircase just a few blocks from the Duomo. This three bedroom apartment comes equipped with three full bathrooms (one with a fabulous chandelier) and a washer/dryer. There is a large living room with enough seating for seven if you ask for an extra bed to be placed there. The bed was a suitable for use as a couch but was really a bed, not a sofa bed. With the added bed, we could sleep seven. This apartment is very large and did not feel at all crowded with seven women in it. The kitchen is a bit small, but still large enough for two people to work in at a time and fully equipped with a large fridge/freezer, oven, burners, dishwasher, espresso maker as well as American coffee maker and all kinds of plates and cutlery as well as cooking equipement. The bedrooms are at the rear and are quiet, the living room faces the street with a large window which opens completely. There is good security and an intercom system. A phone is available. The apartment is perfect for sightseeing anywhere in the historic centre and close to the bus routes for Fiesole and the Cascine park. It is within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. In addition, the Standa grocery store, Sant'Ambrogio market and the post office are all within a short walking distance. I highly recommend this apartment and the Windows on Tuscany agency - I've used them twice. The agency is really good to work with. The office people speak English and are very helpful. They will do their utmost to help you. We had a hot water issue on a Friday night and were able to reach staff by cell phone. The main service person came on Friday night to fix it and was very apologetic about the problem (the service person is a fellow named Sergio who can fix anything!)
