Apartment for 7 in Rome, Rome WhenApril 2006 , six days ReviewThis is a warning re VRBO property number 43096. I reserved the Rome apartment for my family (6 adults and two babies) for March 31, 2006 - April 5, 2006, sent a 250 Euro deposit, and worked out exactly where the owner was to meet us, what time, etc. She never showed up and was unreachable by phone. Some Swedish tourists who were staying in the same apartment building took pity on us and invited us into their unit for a drink of water. The place looked familiar from the internet photos -- turns out the owners had rented no. 43096 to the Swedes for the same period of time. A friend of ours finally got in touch with the owner, who claimed that there had been confusion on the dates, that they had booked us for May 31 instead of March. We also got our deposit back, but not before wasting an entire day in Rome, trying to get in touch with the owner. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
