1bed/1bath villa near Cortona, Tuscany East WhenApril 2006, 1 week LocationOur villa was located on the hill of a beautiful countryside, just a short walk from Cortona. Breathtaking each morning when you arose! Very private and peaceful. Enjoyed it tremendously. Nearby AmenitiesYou could walk but be advised its uphill to the nearest town (Cortona). Easier to drive the winding road, either way a beautiful drive, approximately two 2 kilometers to town. The House/ApartmentOlder villa, which only added to the charm, very good shape, very quiet and peaceful. Upon arriving to the villa, very cute, there are two adjoining villas next to the one in which we resided. GardenBeautiful sitting area overlooking the countryside, picnic table with a pool. This area is shared. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasFurniture was in great shape and comfortable. House was clean and had enough chairs for everyone. Bedrooms/BathroomsBed was very comfortable along with all the amenities. The bathroom was nice with heated towel racks, a big plus for my wife. KitchenKitchen was in good working order. Not overly stocked but contained enough of the basics for your needs. We cooked three nice meals during our stay there. It's easily big enough for large meals. Problems or BonusesThe peace and quiet along with the view was amazing. Our first time over in Europe and found out that our electrical equipment such as hairdryers, etc., did not fit in their outlets, no problems though. Agency and Representatives (and price)Rentvillas were A+ all the way, from beginning to end. They made our honeymoon of 17 days a time of memories to look back on forever!!! The onsite couple were very courteous and helpful. They had us over to there home for tea and gave us some homemade olive oil. They spoke very little English but we had a wonderful time trying to understand each other. The pictures and description accurately described the villa, but to get there, and see the place and countryside in person was unbelievable. We paid $682 per week in the last week of April. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Without any doubt, very nice location. We highly recommend it to any of our friends. Things to do in this areaCortona and surrounding towns are more than enough to keep you busy, but if you want to take the train, which is only 10 minutes away, it is very easy. We took it to Florence one day, and then on a separate day we took it and spent the night in Venice. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
