1bed/2bath villa, Positano, Campania WhenApril 29th to May 6th, 2006, 1 week LocationLocated up on the of the mountain in the city of Positano, overlooking the Amalfi coast, beautiful location. It is attatched to other buildings. We loved the area, easy walk to the bottom of Positano each day. Nearby AmenitiesEasy to walk to a variety of shops both for eating and shopping. The closest little grocery store was an easy five minutes away. The House/ApartmentThe villa we stayed in was in amazing shape. We were very suprised to see how pretty it was layed out. You could here some dogs at night and some neighbors but nothing to keep us up. I think this was connected to some other villas. GardenThe outside patio was gorgeous, large and private. We spent almost everyday out there, either sunning ourselves or playing cards. The view was undescribable. You were overlooking the sea everytime you came out on the patio or looked out from our bedroom or living room. There was no pool but you were only a 15 minute walk from the beach. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture was in excellent condition, very comfortable. The villa was very clean. They had a beautiful welcome basket for us. We could not believe the size of the villa, plenty of room! Bedrooms/BathroomsThe beds were comfortable and we had two separate bathrooms, tiled in beautiful colors. KitchenThe kitchen was complete with everything you could possibly need. Plenty of dishes, pots and pans and every little thing you could need to cook. We cooked at least five nice evening meals there along with several breakfasts. Problems or BonusesWe were pleasantly surprised on how big the villa was and how it was stocked with everything we could ever needed. Agency and Representatives (and price)Rentvillas were very helpful from beginning to end. They made our honeymoon to Italy a wonderful memory that we shall cherish for years. Our onsite representative spoke very good English and was helpful in every way. We paid $1382.for the 1st week in May. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? We would and are going to stay there again. We cant wait to take some of our friends back there with us. Please be advised that there are 104 steps up to the villa. You need to be in half-way good shape because it is quite a climb up and down and very steep, but we just felt this added to the charm of staying in Positano. Things to do in this areaYou can take a boat trip to the nearby Island of Capri, like we did, very nice day trip. We also rented a limo and driver from Positano, and he drove us to nearby towns, such as Ravello and Amalfi, etc. Plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from. Le Tre Sorreles was our favorite place to eat there besides the villa. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
