1bed/1bath apartment, Sorrento, Campania

When

April 2006, One week

Location

The apartment was about a half block from Piazza Tasso, the center of Sorrento. It was easy walking to anywhere in Sorrento including down to the dock (however we took a taxi back up from the dock).

Nearby Amenities

Several grocery stores within two blocks and many restaurants and bars within one block.

The House/Apartment

The apartments were clean and functional and a half block from Piazza Tasso. The website gives an accurate description and the only slight problem was the traffic noise that echoes from the street below. The noise never kept me awake but the church bells at 7:00 Sunday did wake me. There was plenty of light since the windows stretched the entire length of the apartment. They had motorized security shutters on all the windows and the door to the balcony. The entire building was made up of apartment units.

Garden

No pool and there appeared to be a common patio area in back with no view, I didn't use it.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The place was modern with good furniture.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and functional.

Kitchen

The kitchen was good enough to cook meals with pots and pans and dishes.

Problems or Bonuses

The noise from the street was fairly constant because of the echo from the buildings. The windows were double-paned. To avoid this you could probably ask for a room in the back.

The amount of windows was a surprise based on the web pictures.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

All our dealings with Tina were prompt and helpful. When we asked if we could drop our bags at 9:00 even if the rooms were not ready she said no problem, if the room was not ready she would store our bags in her office at the building. As it turned out we could move right in. At 525 euro for each apartment (the last week of low season) this was a bargain.

Tina spoke excellent English. The website is accurate except that there were more windows than shown.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would stay here again. It was a great location at a great price.

Things to do in this area

Sorrento has lots to do but the best reason to stay here is that it is a transportation hub to see everything in the area.
