2bed/2bath house in Gioa Tauro, Calabria

Location

I don’t know that one can fully appreciate both our Villletta and the town of Gioia Tauro for it charm, until one has actually spent some time there. Gioia Tauro is simply a small town despite its narrow streets filled with cars seemingly parked everywhere, and more people then that small town could possibly contain. The things that I will never forget about the Calabria region are the people and the food, both of which are magnificent.

Nearby Amenities

Centrally located, we could walk 5-10 minutes and have everything at our disposal including groceries, cafes and resturants.

The House/Apartment

The Villetta was similiar to a NYC apartment and extremely quiet given the proximity to town. It is a single residence unit completely updated with bedrooms and main bathroom upstairs.

Garden

No outside sitting area or pool.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture was in good shape and the house clean.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The beds were comfortable and bedrooms nice; so were the bathrooms.

Kitchen

Yes. We cooked two meals in the Villetta during our stay. It was usable.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Rented from owner who went above and beyond in attempting to familiarize us with the area.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Yes - it would help particularly in Southern Italy to speak some Italian.

Things to do in this area

Tre Canali. Once we discovered this fantastic restaurant we ended up eating there three evenings during our stay in town. In Reggio di Calabria, Ceasers became an absolute must stop for gelato.
