5bed/4bath villa in Castelmuzio, near Pienza, Tuscany South WhenApril 29 - May 6, 2006, one week LocationThis house is in Castelmuzio. North of Pienza; south of Sinalunga. The little village is nice with a store and a good restaurant, Carmelengo. Nearby AmenitiesThere is a small Coop grocery nearby and a good restaurant. The House/ApartmentThis is a free-standing house on property that contains another large building. There are olive trees all around it. It was very quiet although it is right on the road between Montesi and Castelmuzio. GardenThere is a nice dining area and a sitting area outside. There is a nice pool which overlooks the valley. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasEverything was in excellent shape. There is a sitting room upstairs as well as down. The TV is upstairs in that room. Bedrooms/BathroomsThere were two downstairs bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. One bathroom had a tub and the other a shower. The third bedroom was tiny and had twin beds in it. It would have to share one of the bathrooms. We did not use this bedroom and none of us would have been happy staying there. Upstairs were two bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom with shower and the other bath was across the hall from the bedroom. That worked out okay but the couple in the second upstairs bedroom got first pick at the next house! Three bedrooms are equal and the other two are lesser. There is also a rooftop deck off the upstairs sitting room. Beds were very comfortable. Good linens which were changed mid-week. KitchenThe kitchen was good. Everything you might need. No eating area in the kitchen. Problems or BonusesNo surprises. Agency and Representatives (and price)Agency was fine. Everyone did what they were supposed to do. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Yes. Just be aware that if you have four couples someone will not have an unequal bedroom. I would not put 10 people in the house unless it was a family group. Things to do in this areaYou need a car to stay here. To get here and to go any where. Near Pienza, Siena, Montalcino, etc. Good for touring southern Tuscany. We went to Orvieto one day, as well. Also Deruta. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
