Review 215: La Bella Toscana, Villa Maretta

Review by Sherri from CA

5bed/4bath house near Colle di Val d'Elsa, Tuscany West

June 2001, 1 week

Agency and Representatives (and price)

La Bella Toscana. Gaynor, who runs the agency, speaks English. We actually stopped by the office and had a chance to talk to her - very professional & pleasant.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

yes, yes, yes. We plan to go back in two years, but this time stay two weeks!

Villa Maretta is located 36 miles from Florence and 21 miles from Siena and within walking distance of the hilltop town of Casole d'Elsa. It's a perfect lcaation for day trips! The house was unbelievable - a restored farm house. It was totally remodeled inside - absolutely perfect. It has a beautiful pool that over looks the countryside. The owners live in a house on the property, but are not a problem at all. It's a working farm so they are busy all the time, but were very gracious showing us their home and the farm. They don't speak English so our conversations were limited. As we drove up the hill to the house, we were a little nervous - especially me since I was the one that rented it.

When we saw it, we couldn't believe this was our place - it was so much more than we thought it would be. Only 6 of us went, so we had plenty of room. The price was very reasonable. Highly recommend Villa Maretta!!
