Vacation rentals in Italy (villas, farms, estates, agriturismo, apartments)
Review 2261: Rentvillas, Pippa
2bed/2bath apartment near Tavarnelle, Tuscany Chianti
June 2006, 1 week
Our rental was in the country very close to the town of Tavarnelle. It was within a large building, but you had the sense you were in a single dwelling as it was very quiet in our villa and we had a courtyard that was strictly for our use. We thoroughly enjoyed the area, everyday was a great and very beautiful adventure.
No you could not walk but everything was within ten minutes. We were close to everything, a very adequate grocery store, gas station and several restauants in the immediate area.
I would say the building was very old but the interior was quite modern and in very good shape. The layout was perfect for the four of us. There were no other rentals in our villa, locals occupied the dwellings around us. It was very peaceful. The owners lived across the courtyard and made us feel right at home offering us juice when we arrived and an ice cream treat one evening.
Very nice outside sitting area with peach, lime, lemon, plum and cherry trees surrounding us. It was very private. A pool was the only thing missing!!
The furniture was all in good shape and very comfortable. There were ample numbers of chairs for our party.
Both bathrooms and bedrooms were comfortable with enough of everything supplied.
The kitchen was great. Pots and pans were ample. The only things we found missing was a coffee maker (Canadian style). There was an espresso maker there and a toaster. We only ate breakfast at the villa.
Problems or Bonuses
No surprises, only a pleasant one upon our arrival as we were very pleased with the accomodation.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
We didn't have any complaints. We highly recommend Rentvillas. My representative was great and reflected the published information very accurately. We paid $960/week and were there in June.
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
In all honesty, I would love to stay there again and would recommend it to anyone. We loved Italy and next time would like to explore areas south of where we were. The owners of the villa could not speak a work of English but communicated very well and were very warm and friendly. We felt very safe there it was an ideal location for day trips. Rentvillas will be booking our next trip with certainty!!!
Things to do in this area
We always took a day trip. Siena was great, as was Pisa and the Chianti loop. We didn't have a bad meal and thoroughly enjoyed all the trattorias that we ate in.
