3bed/2bath house near Tavernelle, Tuscany Chianti

Location

Casa San Vito is in the country just past the village of Romita. The location is beautiful - typical Tuscan panorama. There is one other house on the property, also a rental. The house is in a great location for day trips, close to the S2 highway and the great towns of Chianti.

Nearby Amenities

We had to drive to all restaurants and grocery stores, but the Romita Mini Market was only a short drive and we loved it. They had those wonderful Italian croissants freshly baked every morning, and an amazing number of Italian delicacies. If only the US mini markets were like this one!

The House/Apartment

The house was remodeled in 2004 and is in beautiful shape. We stayed in the bedroom on the back side of the house and it was very quiet.

Garden

There was a nice sheltered private sitting area outside - no view, but very pleasant. The web site describes the outdoor stone oven, which indeed exists, but did not appear to have been used in a long time. If you want to use it, arrange to have it cleaned out.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

All the furniture was lovely and the house was immaculate. We had four people so had no problem with seating.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The two large bedrooms are beautiful with very comfortable beds. The third bedroom was small with twin beds - fine, but definitely not on par with the other two. Our room had the master bath, which was smaller but very modern, with a shower. The second bathroom off the hall was very large with a whirlpool bath, but no shower. Both were very nice.

Kitchen

The kitchen is very functional. Has a nice gas stove and oven, as well as a indoor stone area that appeared to be a woodburning grill, but there was no wood, nor did Francesco mention it. We cooked several dinners, including one private cooking lesson, and it was very comfortable.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

We were very pleased with Lisa at Italy Perfect. She was extremely helpful, and everything was exactly as we expected.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

We very highly recommend Casa San Vito. Francesco and his parents are very helpful and gracious. Buy some of their red wine - excellent value.

The house was just beautiful, as was the setting.
