apartments on an estate near Montepulciano, Tuscany South WhenEarly August 2006, 4 nights LocationA very well maintained farm property with seven to eight apartments and another being renovated in a separate building. A few minutes away from Montepulciano Station and 15-20 minutes away from Montepulciano. The location is very nice and quite handy to a number of places by car. Nearby AmenitiesCan walk for groceries and restaurant in Montepulciano Station and larger supermarket and many restaurants in Montepulciano. Our hosts provided a guide to local towns sites with shopping, restaurants and wine testing noted. The House/ApartmentThe buildings and apartment were in terrific condition. Beautifuly maintained and cared for. The grounds with garden and pool were well maintained. Parking was a three-minute walk at the edge of the property next to the road so the apartments were not close to the road noise. A security gate and shaded parking protected cars. GardenOutside sitting beside the pool was shaded by unbrellas and close to the apartments were two outside eating areas that were well shaded. We were encouraged to take fruit and vegetables from the garden and they were delicious. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture and apartment were well maintained, clean and the furniture is in very good condition. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed was comfortable and the ceiling fan combined with screened windows allowed for excellent air circulation. The bathroom had a shower, hairdryer and was very clean and modern. KitchenThe kitchen was very well equiped and our hosts provided some food basics to get us going. We did not cook, but the appliances were in very good condition with a modern gas stove and there were plenty of pots, pans and serving dishes. Problems or BonusesThe hosts were wonderful. Very helpful and respectful of privacy and willing to help or answer any questions. We were treated to a guest dinner on the Wednesday and this came as a total surprise and was a highlight of our trip. The location and the family who operate Le Manzinaie are a joy. Agency and Representatives (and price)We were very well treated when we first inquired and then booked. English was spoken and correspondence was quick. Price was fair. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?When we go back to Italy, we will stay there and we will recommned to friends and family. We have spoken about it to others who are planning on travel to Italy as a great place to base yourself and pace yourself.
