Review 2333: Amalfi Coast Rental (Primula), Moressa

Review by Jonathan from Canada

2bed/2bath apartment in Praiano, Campania

July-Aug 2006, 4 weeks

The apartment was located in Praiano, a small town in between Positano and Amalfi on the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Praiano is a beautiful small town spread across a cliff that overlooks the bay of Naples. It is smaller than the two nearby towns (Positano & Amalfi), which is significant advantage for people that don't wish to be too close to the tourist hot spots. The people in the town were very helpful and the apartment seemed to strike a nice balance of privacy and distance from the town's center. The views have to be seen to be believed and the terrace (where we spent most of our time) provided ample space to eat supper (four people) and enjoy the scenery.

Nearby Amenities

Although the apartment was in a nice private location, there was a small grocery store, which was very well stocked, less than a five minute walk. Also, after speaking with some locals, I discovered that many people from neighboring towns also did their shopping there because of price and quality. The local bar (center of the town, best espresso in the world) is about a 15 minute walk, which also made it easily accessible. One of the most advantages aspects of the apartment was the bus stop directly in front of the entrance to our apartment, which for 1 euro could bring you to the beach or Positano.

The House/Apartment

The house was in excellent condition, and the house seems to have been recently renovated. The kitchen was new and the entire place was very clean when we arrived. There is a large terrace which is the ideal place to spend leisure time.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The apartment was very clean and the lady that came by once a week to change the linens was really nice and helpful (she told us where to get the best limoncello).

The apartment had two bathrooms, which meant that each bedroom got access to its own bathroom, which was great.

I used the kitchen everyday and as mentioned above it was in excellent condition. Big fridge/stove, and enough pots, pans, dishes and glasses.

Problems or Bonuses

The terrace was an amazing surpise, although we knew the place had a big balcony we were amazed by the views and peacefullness it offered.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The agency was very helpful, even when we changed the plans a few times on them. There was a mix up in Sorrento with the car we ordered and the agency helped us sort things out. The representative was extremely helpful and very available when we needed him.

Technocasa is the name of the company responsible for renting/maintaining the property and Amalfi Coast Rental is the name of the website I rented from. The way I understand it, Technocasa is a property agency that owns and operates the "Amalfi Coast Rentals" website.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Yes, the whole trip was wonderful and i stayed there for a month!! I highly recommend this rental property.
