apartments on an estate near Montepulciano, Tuscany South When09/02- 09/09 2006, 1 week LocationLe Manzinaie is beautifully situated, on a quiet road, in the countryside just outside of Montepulciano Stazione and a 15 minutes drive from Montepulciano. The property is surrounded by a beautiful garden and is a very peaceful place. Nearby AmenitiesThere is a Supermarket (Coop) on a five-minute drive. Bank and Postoffice are in Montepulciano Stazione and other shoppings can be done in Montepulciano. There are three good restaurants with typical Tuscan food and pizza only a five-minute drive. The House/ApartmentFour apartments in a beautifully restored farmhouse, built in 1878 and one independant villa. A second villa will be ready in spring next year. The apartments are on the groundfloor and the villa has two stories. The owners live on the grounds and are always there to assist you in whatever you need. GardenShared outside garden with gazebo, different seating, entertaining areas and barbeque facilities. Pool with furnitures and parasols. The villa and two apartments have their own small private garden with furniture. All looks very nice and is well taken care of. In between his many jobs, Fiore spoils you with espresso or a nice glass of vino when your in the garden or at the pool. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThis apartment was the cleanest we have seen in all our travels and we travel a lot! Bedrooms/BathroomsGirasole has two double bedrooms and two bathrooms. The beds are very comfortable. The one bathroom includes two basins, a toilet, a bidet, a jaccuzi bath (wow!) and a separate shower. The other bathroom a basin, a toilet and a shower. The whole apartment is beautiful decorated by Marzia. KitchenA very modern equipped kitchen with everything you need. Problems or BonusesMarzia, Fiore and Alicia were like old friends from the moment we arrived. The family style dinners with all the guests are unforgettable; authentic Italian cooking by Marzia and Fiore with so many courses and liters of wine and vin Santo. In one word "fantastic". Alice helps a lot and speaks fluently English. (Thanks again for all the translations). Also the owners are offering tomatoes, squashes, apples, prunes, pears etc., from their fruit/vegetable garden. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I can absolutely recommend this property to anybody who likes to visit Italy. The hospitality you find here from Marzia, Fiore and Alice will not easily be found anywhere else. You won't be disappointed. This is your "home" in Italy. (To be very honest, I would like to keep this place my little secret.) We have been here three times now and we will absolutely return. Things to do in this areaIdeal to make day trips into all the historical hill towns of Tuscany or to take the train to Rome and Florence. Not to forget the towns of Montepulciano and Montalcino (wines). This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
