Vacation rentals in Italy (villas, farms, estates, agriturismo, apartments)
Review 2383: Giglio Hotel, Dependance Anna Apartment
1bed/1bath apartment in Montalcino, Tuscany South
22- 27 May 2006, 5 nights
The vacation rental was in the country, in central Tuscany in a town called Montalcino. It is in the centre of the town near other buildings and is reasonably quiet. I liked the area as it was close to the little shops you could buy fresh bread and groceries from and not far from cafes in the main street.
Restaurants, cafes, wine bars and grocery stores were a short stroll outside the apartment as it is centrally located.
The apartment is quite old. It is one of a few apartments available in a building where there would be four to eight others. the building is old but well kept. It was in good shape and it was peaceful and quiet while I stayed there.
The apartment layout was spacious. The main living area is large has the bed, dining table tv and lounge and many windows giving light. It was a top floor apartment so it was private. The floors were stone and very nicely presented. There was a separate kitchen and bathroom which were beautifully presented and very well kept.
There was no outside sitting area or pool.
Everything was beautifully presented and all the utensils etc. in the kitchen were well kept and in good working order. It was clean and spacious and serviced daily by the associated hotel staff.
The bed was four-poster and very comfortable. Bathroom lovely, modern but in a classical style, appeared luxurious.
All the utensils etc. in the kitchen were well kept and in good working order. I loved cooking in the kitchen every night. There was enough room to cook and enough of all utensils.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
The price paid was 85 euros for the apartemnt per night. The onsite person was very friendly and spoke English. They were very courteous and friendly. The apartement was even nicer than described/the pictures showed, a pleasant surprise.
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
Yes I would recommend friends or anyone stay here. It's really very lovely.
Things to do in this area
No restaurants to recommend beacause I cooked every night did not dine out. All the wines in the area were nice. I tried the local red, brunello and also very nice with a pasta dish I made. Used The town to explore the areas around central Tuscany and the Val d'orcia.
