3bed/2bath apartment in Todi, Umbria WhenJanuary, 2007, 3 days LocationThe apartment is located in an old (medieval?) building right behind a small church in the historic center of Todi, Italy. There were fantastic views of the two main churches in Todi and of the Umbrian countryside. Todi is a gorgeous, walled town on top of a high hill in Umbria. It is centrally located in Umbria which makes it a good home base to visit other towns like Assisi, Orvieto, Spoleto, etc. Nearby AmenitiesEverything was within a few minutes walking distance: the main piazza, shops, bars, the post office, grocery stores, even the community theater. The House/ApartmentThe building was very old but well-maintained and spotless. The apartment is on two floors and is very charming; decorated with both antiques and modern furniture. The building was very quiet and we did not hear the neighbors. Although it is located behind a small church we did not hear any church bells. GardenThere is no garden or pool, but there is a small terrace (large enough for two to sit on, which has a wonderful view of the Umbrian countryside and two of the main churches in Todi. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe apartment was spotless and little touches helped us feel at home (tea, hair dryer, small bookcase with books in English, travel guides). The rooms were all good-sized and equipped with everything necessary. Bedrooms/BathroomsThere is a full bath on the lower floor and a half-bath upstairs. Both were adequate for our needs and spotlessly clean. KitchenWe didn't cook in the kitchen during our stay (using it only for making tea in the evening) but it appeared to have everything necessary. One bonus was the presence of a washing machine - something I always wish for on longer vacations but never find! Problems or BonusesThe view from the terrace was a fantastic surprise and we spent a lot of time sitting there, enjoying it. Agency and Representatives (and price)The owner speaks English well and was extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Highly recommended! Things to do in this areaWe visited both Assisi and Spoleto during our trip and highly recommend both. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
