Review 2652: Residenza Giubbonari, Yellow Apartment

Review by Rosepoint from VA

3bed/2bath apartment near Campo dei Fiori, Rome

January 15-19, 2007, 5 nights

Located right down the street from Campo di Fiori this apartment could not have been in a more central location. We walked everywhere including to the Vatican from this location.

Nearby Amenities

There was a grocery store within two blocks of the apt. The daily fruit/vegetable market was easy to go to daily to stock up on fresh produce. We spent a lot of time in the cafes in the Campo, at the pizza place (almost daily) and our evening stroll to buy gelato. You can also walk just a few blocks to a taxi stand if you are tired of walking everywhere. We found a wine bar about five blocks away that offered free happy hour food while you drank. Often we just grabbed a snack for dinner after visiting the wine bar.

The House/Apartment

The building is historical located in the middle of a shopping street. The apartment was nicely decorated, very bright and very clean. There was street noise at night which only bothered one of us who found that turning on the fan drowned out most of the noise. There are a mixture of rental apartments and residences in the building but we never heard noise from another apartment.

This apartment had two terraces. It was a little cold at night in January to sit outside but we did go out during the day to have a cup of coffee and enjoy the views.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture was in good shape and very clean.

The beds were comfortable and I am very picky about that. The second bedroom was small but worked out well for sleeping. Both baths were a good size and very clean. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water.

The kitchen was very nice. All appliances including washer and dryer were located there. We cooked a few meals in the apartment and had everything we needed to prepare a simple lunch or dinner.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Christine met us at the apartment and spent time showing us how everything worked. We were pleased with the amount of information left in the apartment on sites to see in the area. One day we even got a chance to look at the other rental apartments that were empty. In addition, Christine organized our airport pickup and drop off and we were very pleased with the drivers and service. In fact, on the way to the apartment they had to get a bigger vehicle (we had been shopping in London before we went to Rome) and the driver stayed with us at the airport until the second vehicle arrived.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Yes, I would recommend this apartment to others. Just realize that this is a very busy area even at night so if you don't enjoy crowds then consider staying elsewhere. We enjoyed this area so much that we are planning a return trip sometime this year.
