apartments on an estate near Montepulciano, Tuscany South WhenOctober 2006, Week LocationThis is located outside of Montepulciano and is a large farmhouse divided into four large apartments. It is secluded and surrounded by shrubbery. It is a wonderfully quiet area. Nearby AmenitiesThe nearest stores and restaurants were about 1.5 Km at Montepulciano Stazione. The House/ApartmentThe building has been remodeled by the owners Marzia, Fiore and Alice. It was extremely quiet and very relaxing. There aer four apartments in the main building all at ground level and a stand alone 2bed/1bath house. All the areas have new terracotta floors. These look like traditional Tuscan buildings. GardenThere is a very nice arbor to sit under with a large table. There is a large swimming pool with plenty of seating around it. These are both shared spaces. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasOur 1bed/1bath apartment was well furnished and very comfortable. It was cleaner than most places we have stayed. A nice sitting area and good sized kitchen were a bonus. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed was comfortable and was set in a large, well furnished room. There was one very large bathroom. It had a shower, a separate whirlpool tub and two sinks set in a long counter. KitchenThe kitchen was well equipped with all the utensils you could use. Lots of dishes, pots and pans and silverware. We could have cooked large meals here. Problems or BonusesThe biggest surprise was the owners of Pondere Le Manzinaie, Marzia and Fiore along with their beautiful daughter Alice (pronounced Aleche) provide a very comfortable, warm and inviting “Home away from home.” From the first step on the estate, to our tearful Bon Voyage, we were treated like family. The joy Marzia, Fiore and Alice feel when their patrons are happy shines from deep within their hearts. They show the care and attentiveness of the best hoteliers and the warmth and love of the father of the prodigal son! Agency and Representatives (and price)We contacted Le Manzinaie directly and were treated well. Marzia, Fiore and Alice all speak English. The information online cannot come close to reflecting the true comfort, warmth and care you receive here. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? Our next trip to Italy in 2008 will indeed include a week at Le Manzinaie. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in a relaxing getaway in the middle of their hectic travel itinerary. Things to do in this areaFrom here we were able to drive a shot distance to Montepulciano, Pienza, Monticchiello, Cortona, Montalcino, Bagno Vignoni and Siena. Our favorite meal was served at the estate as a group dinner. With local produce, meat, wine and cheese, we were in heaven.
