WORTH THE SPLURGE IN VENICE!

Through Venice Rentals, we stayed at Palazzo Fontana for a week before Easter this year and loved it. There were only four of us, so we really got to spread out. The location is fabulous, right next to the Ca d’Oro vaporetto stop and a traghetto stop. Very handy for getting across the Grand Canal. The house was wonderful and well equipped. We really felt special being in such a beautiful and historic building. We were awe inspired every day we came home.

The beds were comfortable, heat worked well, bathrooms fine, plenty of hot water, no complaints at all about the house. We especially enjoyed being out on the balcony in the evening, drinks in hand, when the day tourists were leaving and waving at us. It was definitely a memorable vacation and one that we hope to repeat. We would highly recommend Palazzo Fontana for a relaxing, luxurious vacation.

Venice Rentals could not have been easier to use, or more professional and helpful. Denise answered every email promptly and was there to greet us when we arrived. Everything went like clockwork, even when we had to change our dates at the last minute.

Denise showed us a terrific grocery store, Billa, about half-a-block away. We went every morning for fresh bread and fruit. We also found a really good barista down the street (to the right as you leave the alley): Brazilia coffee. Perfect for a quick cappuccino (standing up of course) before you start your day.

For dinner we found two places near by which we would highly recommend: Fiaschetteria Toscana (about a five minute walk) was delicious and very friendly, although you do need reservations. And practically across the street was Trattoria Ca d’Oro alla Vedova, which was very casual, open late and had delicious cicchetti (small dishes) that Venice is famous for.
