1bed/1bath apartment near Colosseum, Rome WhenApril 26-28, 2007, 2 nights LocationThis apartment was one block from the Colosseum. Just above the metro stop. It was on a quiet street that did not directly connect to Via dei Fori Imperiali by car so there was very little traffic on the apartment's street. It was very convenient to the Colosseum and walkable to most of Rome's centro area. Nearby AmenitiesThere were several restaurants and bars in the neighborhood. There was a small store a block away. The House/ApartmentIt was on the top floor of a secure building with an elevator. Upon entry to the building there was a courtyard. Off of the courtyard was a foyer with a small elevator, as well as stairs. The view from the windows was of the courtyard and of other apartments. No direct view of the Coliseum from the apartment itself, but a stunning view from the building's door. The apartment is a one bedroom and one bath. The living room has a double bed behind the couch/sitting area. The couch could also serve as a single bed. The kitchen was well equipped and there was some food to start us off: coffee, milk, bread, fruit, a bottle of wine. You can view the apartment directly: Martina al Colosseo. GardenNo pool. A small narrow porch that was the access to the apartment. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture was in good shape, clean, nice. The apartment was extremely clean. There were four dining chairs, a table, and a couch in the living room. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe beds were comfortable. The bathroom was a good size with a shower/tub combo. Everything was very nice and clean. KitchenThe kitchen was very nice. There were plenty of pots and pans, dishes, glasses, an American style coffee pot as well as a mokka pot for espresso. Problems or BonusesWe were very pleasantly surprised by the apartment. It was very nice. Agency and Representatives (and price)The owners met us at the apartment. Since we arrived earlier than check in time, the apartment was still being cleaned. That didn't prevent us from doing the paperwork, paying, dropping our luggage, and getting the keys. The owners were very nice. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would definitely stay here again. It was cheaper than a family size hotel room with a lot more space. The location was great. The apartment was very nice. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
