apartments in the historic center, Rome WhenMarch 2002, 10 days ReviewI have stayed in various hotels in various locations in Rome and this was the best location yet. Walk out the door and stroll to all of Rome's most fabulous sights as well as best restaurants. We never once had to take a taxi or Metro. The apartment is large with a small kitchen, but the kitchen is very thoughtfully designed. Nice bathroon with a washing machine and a drying rack. Double glazed windows keep out the noise, but we left them open and enjoyed the street sounds. I've stayed in Rome 10 or so times and quiet becomes relative as nowhere in the centro is quiet. The neighborhood is interesting with fabulous bars for morning cappuccino and many restaurants. Campo de Fiori is across the street, Piazza Navona around the corner, and the Forum and Coleseum a few blocks down. Stefano, the owner, is kind and helpful and speaks English. He met us at 5 a.m. to say goodbye when we left. (He also arranged the car to the airport.) This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
