2bed/3bath house in Cupra Marittima, Marche WhenMay 26 - June 2, 2007, 1 week LocationThis property is a reconstructed villa in a Medieval Fortified Village. While the outside of the building appeared identical to surrounding 12th century buildings the inside was finished in Italian chic, with high quality furnishing and appointments. The area was high above the lower village and very peaceful and quiet. The lower village was right on the Adriatic Coast with large, clean beaches. The House/ApartmentThe original building was constructed in the 12th century and has been totally reconstructed to modern standards while preserving the authentic period appearance. Upon entry you were in a beautiful sitting room with a wood burning fireplace, media center, full bath and laundry room with washing machine. Up one flight and you entered the dining/sitting room and kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped with a gas range, electric oven, microwave and dishwasher. The bedrooms on floors three and four were very comfortable and spacious, each with a bath that was modern and spacious; the "gravity" shower head was a religious experience. GardenThe views were magnificent; the Adriatic and surrounding hills, as seen from the bedrooms, dining room and third floor patio. The small garden off the dining/sitting area was a great place for al fresco dining; private with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furnishings, linens and art work were of the highest quality. The villa was spotless. KitchenThe kitchen was modern and well equipped. We prepared at least one full meal a day including breakfast. The fridge while small was sufficient; the one drawback was the Italian "thing" about ice cubes; no trays however we improvised. Problems or BonusesOnly one surprise we did not expect the villa to be a nice as it was. It was a fabulous value. We got much more for our money then we thought we'd get. Agency and Representatives (and price)Our experience with the rental agency, home owners (who spoke English) was excellent. We would not hesitate to deal with this agency again. The only surprise was their somewhat modest description of the property to what we actually received. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?WE ARE GOING BACK! That says it all. We've been to all the areas of Italy and this was one of the best! Things to do in this areaRestaurants were excellent, however since they are a matter of individual taste we'd rather not give any specifics other then the one in the village; within an easy walk, Pepeneros; Italian contemporary.
