1bed/1bath apartment near Santa Maria Maggiore, Rome WhenJune 2-10, 2007, 1 week LocationThe apartment is located very close to Santa Maria Maggiore. Nearby AmenitiesThe apartment is very convenient to a good-size grocery store, restaurants, self-serve laundromat, Internet cafes, the train station, bus stops, and a tourist information kiosk. The House/ApartmentThe apartment is on the seventh floor of a 19th Century building, with an elevator. The apartment is in very good shape and is very quiet. The apartment has a large entry way, large living room (with two sleeper sofas), a kitchen with a small refrigerator & stove. The bath is large and was spotless. The bedroom is good sized and is air-conditioned. GardenThe living room windows opened to an enclosed courtyard. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture was in good shape & comfortable. The apartment was spotless. Mid-week, a housekeeper came & cleaned and left clean towels. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed was somewhat comfortable. KitchenThe kitchen had everything we needed to cook a full meal. Problems or BonusesI would say that the only surprise was the size - there was more than enough room for my husband and me. Agency and Representatives (and price)No problems with booking through the agency. We arrived on a rainy day and were slightly lost. We called Elizabetta & her father, Massimo (the owners) found us and let us into the apartment before the normal check-in time. Although Massimo did not speak English well, we were able to understand him. Elizabetta speaks English well and was very pleasant on the phone. The price was very reasonable considering all of the positive aspects of the apartment. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would love to stay at the apartment again. I would recommend it highly. Things to do in this areaMost of the popular sights are within walking distance. We did take a bus to the Vatican, as we felt that was too far to walk.
