Villa Luisa is a self contained apartment on the edge of a village, Ville di Corsano, 10 km south of Siena.

The apartment is on the first floor via stairs and is above the owner's apartment. It is comprises one large room with kitchen, living and bedroom, with an en suite off the bedroom. Two windows face north with magnificent views over the garden and on to Siena with one window facing west over the rolling hills.

The kitchen is modern and very well equipped with lots of cooking utensils, a four burner cook-top and small refrigerator. The apartment was very clean.

The room also has a dining table and six chairs, two comfortable lounge chairs, TV, sideboard and bookcase with lots of books and brochures of the surrounding area.

The queen-size bed was very comfortable with a doona and extra blankets if needed with two bedside tables and lights.

The bathroom has a bath and shower combined, with an adjacent toilet and bidet. There is also a small washing machine in the bathroom. There is a separate well-lit small area for the hand basin and mirror. Washing can be hung out in the garden.

Villa Luisa is the first house on the northern side of the village and a short walk into the village. The village has a post office, cafe and small supermarket. The only drawback is having to walk on the main road as there is no footpath. A large Coop supermarket was about a 20-minute drive, in Monteroni d'Arbia.

We did have a little difficulty finding Villa Luisa even with directions from Villa Luisa's web site, as Ville di Corsano was not on our Michelin Italy map.

The location is excellent and we visited Siena, Montalcino, Murlo, Abbey San Antimo, Pienza, San Galgano, Montefollonico, San Lorenzo. A car is essential.

Our host, Luisa, speaks fluent English and was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay immensely and considered it to be the best accommodation we had during our one month in Italy.
