Review 2972: Bed & Breakfast Association of Rome, Cod. 047 Colosseo- Labicana
3bed/2bath apartment near Colosseum, Rome
July 27, 3 nights
My husband and I , two children ages, 6 and 12, as well as my parents, stayed in this three bedroom/two bathroom apartment. We were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the rooms were and the bathrooms were a nice size as well. The apartment was very clean, neat, nice furniture, and the linens were clean. The kitchen was stocked with crackers, jams, sugar, coffee, oil for cooking, etc. We were very impressed.
The locations was good, nice area and about five minutes walking distance to the Colosseum and other surrounding tourist area. There is a bus terminal around the corner from the apartment that you can take to the train terminal, and there is an ATM machine just at the corner of the apartment. The apartment is on the first floor, but there are a few steps that you will have to climb. Marco, the manager is very good in helping with the luggage and with giving directions and information on nearby restaurants and tourists sites. He even woke up early on our departure date to help bring our suitcases down. I felt very safe in the apartment and the surrounding area.
I would not hesitate in recommending this apartment and would stay their again if we were to return to Rome someday.
Thank you Marco and Bed and Breakfast Association of Rome for a wonderful experience.
There were restaurants, ice cream parlors, bakery, fruit market, etc. all at walking distance.
The apartment is on a busy road as far as car, buses, motorcycles, going by but you do not see a lot of people walking outside the building. With the windows closed you will not hear any noise at all. The apartment has air conditioners in all the bedrooms, which is needed in July. The building is old but the apartment is in great condition. There are a lot of apartments in this building but you must have three keys to gain access into the apartments. There is also a telecom service.
There is no outside sitting area, and there is no pool.
The apartment was in good shape, comfortable, clean and there were enough chairs in the dining area for all of us. There is no living room in this apartment, but if you are going to Rome for site seeing there is really no time to be sitting around. There are TVs in all the bedrooms, but only Italian channels.
The bedrooms were very nice. They were a nice size, with plenty of storage space. The linens were nice and clean. The beds were comfortable. My parents had a two twin bedroom, which was made into a double bed, and there was a nice sized bathroom . My children ages 6 and 12 shared a bedroom with two twin beds, and my husband and I had a double bedroom. There was a second bathroom and we shared with our kids, also a nice size bathroom. Both bathrooms had showers with great water pressure and plenty of warm water.
The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes. I did not do any cooking while we stayed there, but it is a functional kitchen for cooking. There is a dishwasher, refrigerator, stove and oven, and there is also a small washing machine, that was not working during our stay, but that was okay since we had brought plenty of clothes.
Problems or Bonuses
I was surprised to see the kitchen stocked the way it was with condiments, crackers, jams, sugar, coffee, teas, oil, chocolate mix for chocolate milk. There were a few more items there. I was expecting to have to go out and buy these items. I wish the coffee pot was bigger, it was just big enough for four cups.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
The agency, Bed and Breakfast Association of Rome, was wonderful. The agent contacted me promptly, and answered all my questions in my e-mail. The transaction was very smooth and easy. Marco the manager of the apartment contacted me by e-mail and was very helpful.
We called him when we were near to let him know what time we would be arriving and he greeted us at the entrance to the building. We paid him in cash at our arrival and on our departure he helped us bring down our luggage.
Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
I would not hesitate to stay here again and would certainly recommend it to my best friend.
Things to do in this area
We walked to the Colosseum and all the surrounding sites. The Vatican city and Spanish steps were a bit too far for us to walk there, especially since we had a six year old and a 70 year old who find it difficult to walk long distances. There was one particular pizza restaurant that was pretty good, just a few feet away from the apartment. I can not remember the name but it is listed on the sheet that Marco has typed up as one of the many restaurants that he enjoys and that are not as costly.
