1bed/1bath apartment in Pisa, Tuscany West When5-12 September 2007, 1 week LocationWe found it a good city location, for even when not doing anything special you can just walk round the corner to the tower area and soak up the sun, the sights and the atmosphere (it's fantastic to see so many people from all nationalities coming together). We discovered that the train station round the corner is good for any of the major attractions - Florence, Lucca, Viareggio, etc; but a thorough explanation of how to the use the ticket machine is recommended for those who won't understand Italian (we were fined for getting it wrong!!). Nearby AmenitiesNo problem with supplies of food etc with Pam a few steps away. Bars, cafes, markets and restaurants all within easy walking distance. The House/ApartmentThe apartment itself was good. Noise levels from the traffic and sirens at the front may mean that people who need quiet to sleep may be best recommended to use the sofa bed in the kitchen/diner. GardenNo garden or pool. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasFine - furniture good, beds okay, all clean etc. Bedrooms/BathroomsClean well equipped bathroom (shower but no bath) and towels provided. Beds okay. KitchenCooking facilities were good - a very good electric oven with gas hobs, microwave, fridge freezer and washing machine. Although limited work space. Pots, plates and cutlery okay. Problems or BonusesIt was nice to find a gift of pasta, wine and tea/coffee etc when we arrived. The owners were particularly helpful and generous, for example they could be contacted at any time for help. Agency and Representatives (and price)Everything was done very well. The price was very reasonable. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Yes, we'd come back - and an important factor in this was the kind attitude of the owners. Things to do in this areaPisa is famous for the leaning tower, but is also a very nice city. If you don't want to risk driving in Italy (as we didn't) it has two train stations and a good bus service to take you to most places you are likely to want to go, inc Florence, Lucca, Viarregio (beach), and all stops on the way to these.
