Review 309: TuscanHouse, Villa Torriani

Review by William from United States

large villa in Lucca, Tuscany North

June 29th-July 6th, 1 week

The villa is in the outskirts of Lucca. It is in a very picturesque and private location. We were there with 13 family members and each of us loved the villa.

Nearby Amenities

You had to drive to get groceries, but there was a wonderful store less then 5 minutes from the villa.

The House/Apartment

The villa was in wonderful shape. The bathrooms and kitchen were brand new and beautiful. Plenty of sitting rooms and the kitchen table was big enough for all 13 of us to sit at one time for breakfast. There is a housekeeper who cleans the villa every day which was wonderful. The mast amazing thing was that she did the laundry for all 13 of us every day including washing, ironing and folding.

The gardens were beautiful and private. They are planning on putting in a swimming pool this summer (2002).

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture was wonderful, comfortable and plenty of chairs for the 13 of us in any of the sitting rooms as well as at breakfast in the kitchen or in the dining room.

Bedrooms were big, well furnished, and comfortable. There were 8 bedrooms, three single bedrooms, two bedrooms with two twin beds and three with double or queen size beds. Bathrooms were new and spacious and more then enough. There were even two half bathrooms on the ground floor.

The kitchen was big, brand new, granite counters, two cook tops, two dishwashers, one oven and a brand new refrigerator-freezer. Plenty of pots, pans, dishes, silverware and coffee pots.

Problems or Bonuses

No problems, just a wonderful time had by all. As I mentioned before, the biggest surprise was the housekeeper who did our laundry every day.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Zak at TuscanHouse was great. He was helpful, always available for helpful hints and ideas. The onsite person spoke English and was great. The reality of the villa was many times better than the pictures. Everyone of us would go back to the villa again next summer or even better, have the villa for our very own. Just great!!!

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

As I said above, the villa was wonderful. I would highly recommend the villa to anyone.

Things to do in this area

The villa and Lucca were wonderful. Short drives to Florence, Pisa and the coast. Slightly longer rides to Siena, but in a perfect location. You should have your own rental car.
