2bed/2bath apartment near Colosseum, Rome WhenSeptember 2007, 7 days LocationWe had a wonderful location in this beautiful two bedroom apartment. Walked to all the historic sights. The Colosseum was just down the street and our first view of the morning when we stepped outside the apartment door. The Roman Forum was steps away. I cannot give enough praise to the location, quietness and safety of the location. Nearby AmenitiesNatalia (the owner) had provided for all breakfast amenities. There was coffee, toast, crackers, milk etc., even eggs in the fridge. However, for cooking in or eating out, our street was littered with sidewalks cafes and a grocery store and supermarket were close by. A car is not necessary and a bus goes right past the apartment. The House/ApartmentThe apartment itself was absolutely stunning, beautifully maintained and decorated. Two large bedrooms, lovely living and kitchen area and two bathrooms. There was also a small balcony off the living room. Each room was spotless. Natalia obviously takes pride in making her guests feel comfortable. I'm not sure how many other apartments were in this building (I think a total of think four) but only one more on our floor and we never even seen or heard anyone during our entire stay. GardenNo outside sitting area. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasFurniture was perfectly comfortable and spotlessly clean. Bedrooms/BathroomsBeds were very comfortable. Two bathrooms, one very large with great water pressure in the shower! Great big mirror and electrical plugs. KitchenWe didn't cook but the kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you will every need to prepare three meals a day if necessary, including all kinds of pots and pans, wine glasses, even containers for left-overs! Problems or BonusesNo surprises, everything was wonderful. I had read all good reviews for this apartment on Slow Travel, but our experience was even better than we could ever have imagined. The owner, Natalia, was welcoming, helpful and wonderful in every sense of the word. She advised us on what to see, how to get there and gave us a cell phone to contact her at any time if needed. Agency and Representatives (and price)We dealt directly with Natalia when arranging the rental. She speaks English well. The apartment more than met all our expectations. The price is reasonable and was well worth the stay for its great location and hospitality of its owner. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone. I would recommend it to my family and we will both be staying here again when we return to Rome. Things to do in this areaWe love to walk and for us, everything was within walking distance of the apartment, even the Vatican. To list everything we did and saw would be too much. I think the only thing in Rome we did not see was The Catacombs. Beautiful, beautiful city. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
