1bed/1bath apartment near Porta Maggiore, Rome When10/03/07 - 10/07/07, 5 days LocationThe location of the apartment was very central and within easy reach of the main railway station and the bus station of Rome, about a twenty minute walk but it is in a lovely area and a pleasure to walk in. The apartment is in a block of about twenty and is well maintained with an elevator to all floors. Nearby AmenitiesThere are plenty of coffee shops just two minutes walk from the front door which also do food. The grocery shops are about twenty minutes walk and cater to all your needs. The House/ApartmentThe building looked very old from the outside as most do in Rome but inside it was beautiful. It had a large living area, small kitchen, large dining area with large patio doors leading onto the terrace, large bedroom and bathroom with shower and bath. GardenThe outside area was very private with seating and tables, decorated with lovely plants. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe apartment was well furnished and very comfortable, very clean and well kept, plenty seating and two sofa beds in the living area for extra guests! Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed in the bedroom was very comfortable, and it was lovely and quiet so a peaceful nights sleep every night. KitchenWe did cook in the kitchen but never big meals. It was well stocked with all the essentials needed. Problems or BonusesThe surprise was how comfortable and at home we felt. The apartment had such a relaxed atmosphere, very friendly and inviting. Agency and Representatives (and price)We were treated very well when booking with the agency, very polite and friendly. We asked for a quiet, comfortable apartment, close to all the tourist sights in Rome and that is exactly what we got. We paid around €700 and that was in October which we thought was good value. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? If I do decide to pay another visit to Rome (which i feel i must; there is still so much to see), I hope to be able to book the same apartment or one very similar in the same area and I will definitely be recommending it to others. Things to do in this areaWe took the tourist bus for a couple of days which is a great way to see all the sights. You can hop on and off all day at the attractions. We also walked a lot and enjoyed the vibe of the city. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
