7bed/6bath house near San Casciano Dei Bagni, Tuscany South When10/6/07 - 10/13/07, One Week LocationVilla Casa Nuova was on the outskirts of San Casiciano Dei Bagni. It was located about a mile from world class Fonte Verde Spa. The villa was about a mile up a gravel road off of the main road in a wooded area. There were several properties in the immediate area as well. All of the properties were gated and quite secure. Nearby AmenitiesThere were nearby restaurants etc in the main square but you definitely needed a car to access them. The drive was five minutes from the villa. The House/ApartmentVilla Casa Nuova's owner is an Architect/Designer and obviously a talented one. The home was not only beautifully decorated but also comfortable, peaceful welcoming. The villa came with many amenities such as fluffy white towels, monogrammed sheets, chef's kitchen etc. If that weren't enough the house manager was also a gourmet chef. We hired her for several meals. Those meals were the best meals we had while in Tuscany. In addition to the exquisite meals, we were treated to candles and the fireplace being lit at meal time. It was truly "white glove service." GardenThere were at least four different outside private sitting areas. The poolside was the most frequently used however several of the bedrooms also had private sitting areas. There was also a garden, rosebushes and lavender everywhere on the property. One of the most delightful experiences were the endless varieties of butterflies that abounded. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furnishings were that of an upscale country home. It was comfortable and our group spent several evenings in the large living room in front of the fireplace for hours talking or watching movies. Bedrooms/BathroomsThere was one king sized bed, one queen sized bed, two full sized beds and six twin beds. All were extremely comfortable and attractive. There were two master bedrooms both with four poster beds. All but one room had en suite baths. The master bathroom had a seven foot cast iron soaker tub and a separate shower. The rest had tub/shower combinations. KitchenThe large eat-in kitchen had a fireplace and an island. There were multiple sets of place settings, silver as well as stainless flatware and stemware. There were a multitude of pots and pans. It had everything any accomplished cook would want or need. Problems or BonusesI can't say enough about our experience with this villa. Villa Casa Nuova could be considered a destination. It was truly hard to leave it for day trips. Sometimes we just stayed home and enjoyed. The house manager Antoinetta provided outstanding service and goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure your stay is comfortable and pleasurable. Agency and Representatives (and price)Papavero Rentals Patrice and Virginia were extremely helpful and patient. They provided all of the handholding and pertinent information needed to make for a wonderful vacation. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I will absolutely return to this villa. If you are looking for a special experience, I highly recommend renting Villa Casa Nuova! Things to do in this areaOur group took the train to Arezzo, Florence and Rome. We also drove to Chiusi and Siena. Our favorite restaurant was in our villa! This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
