apartments in the historic center, Rome WhenSeptember 2007, 4 nights LocationExcellent location between Piazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori. On a small, quiet street just off of Piazza Pasquino. Nearby AmenitiesMany types of restaurants very near by. Multiple grocery stores within walking distance. The House/ApartmentThere are several apartments in the building with some still not yet renovated for rent (no current renovation noise). The location was quiet and the apartment was in very good shape. There is an elevator. The single bedroom apartment we were in (the Rosina) was exactly as described and pictured on the website. GardenNo garden. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThere was a comfortable couch (sofa-bed), TV with CNN, kitchen and dining area in the living room and a washing machine. It was extremely clean. There was a remote control ceiling fan in the living room. The fan was very good for helping to dry laundry. There was an ironing board and iron. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed was reasonably comfortable compared to what we normally find in Italy. The bedroom had air-conditioning as well as a ceiling fan. The bathroom was small but adequate. The only slight negative on an overwhelmingly positive experience was that the hot water was provided by a unit in the bathroom that didn't have enough hot water for two long showers back to back. It was easy to adapt after the first day. There was a hairdryer provided. KitchenThere was a reasonable size kitchen area with a small fridge. We didn't cook but it appeared well stocked with pots/pans/dishes/etc. There was a table with four chairs. Problems or BonusesThe proprietor stocked the fridge with regular and fizzy water and several other drinks. They also had laundry detergent. There was a great notebook with information on everything from museums to where the nearby grocery stores were. The proprietor was extremely nice and helpful during our stay. Agency and Representatives (and price)All of our interactions were positive. We paid €195/night. The descriptions on their web site were very accurate. There were a couple of more pieces of furniture in the living room than in their pictures but other than that it was exactly as described. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I have already recommended this to a co-worker who will be traveling in December. I would make this my first choice of where to stay again. Things to do in this areaPiazza Pasquino which is at the end of the street has the Cul de Sac wine bar as well as the Terra di Siena restaurant that we enjoyed. It is so centrally located that we walked everywhere except to the train station. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
