1bed/1bath apartment in Trastevere, Rome When9/29/07 - 10/3/07, 4 nights LocationThis apartment location is in the Trastevere area of Rome. The location is a wonderful location. Although not as centrally located as some areas of Rome might be, it has a wonderful selection of shops and restaurants. Nearby AmenitiesThere is a fruit and vegetable market directly across from the apartment. There are numerous restaurants, bars, and bakeries within a few blocks. There is a quite large grocery store within walking distance. The House/ApartmentThe apartment is in a building that has been in the owner's family for many years. You walk up one flight of stairs to the apartment. There is an entry hall, a dining area, living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The apartment is very large. There are doors between many of the rooms to keep the air conditioning in the bedroom and to make each area more private. GardenThere is a very small outside area off the bedroom, but it's not an area that you would sit in. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe furniture is in fine shape, and quite comfortable. It is furnished with a futon and chair in the living room. A large table with six chairs in the dining area. The apartment was very clean. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed was very comfortable. The bedroom was huge. There was an air conditioner in the bedroom, which was very nice. The owner has very nice touches, like drinking glasses, Kleenex packets, and a chocolate sitting on each side of the bed. The bathroom was also very nice with two rooms - one contained the sink, and the other the toilet, bidet, tub, and washing machine. There were lots of toiletries provided in case you ran out of what you brought. KitchenThe kitchen was very usable. The owner provided a welcome basket with pasta, recipe, etc. for a dinner, snacks, and a bottle of wine. The kitchen is small without a lot of counter space, but was furnished very well. Problems or BonusesThe owner provided nice touches like a book with instructions for the house/suggestions on the area, a key ring with a flashlight, umbrellas, market cart, lots of paper items, etc. A cell phone was also provided if you chose to purchase the minutes to use it. Agency and Representatives (and price)Shelley was very pleasant and answered all questions we had. She is originally from the United States, so spoke perfect English. The apartment was larger than what I expected. We paid €135 night. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would recommend this apartment to anyone. We would stay there again. It was a comfortable, large place to come home to in the evening. Things to do in this areaTrastevere is a wonderful place to wander around, eat, shop, etc. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Da Enzo, a very local restaurant recommended by the owner of the apartment. There are also many wonderful gelato places close by. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
