3bed/1bath house near Sestino, Tuscany East

Autumn 2007, 3 months

Location

The home was located in what might be one of the most beautiful spots in the world. Hills, mountains, streams, trees - all stunning. Dramatic scenery set in an ideal atmosphere. Extremely private.

Nearby Amenities

You must drive to get almost anywhere. The home comes with the free use of an automobile. An unbelievable deal. A twenty minute drive to larger towns with grocery stores and Internet spots. But the nearest town of Sestino (five minute drive) covers your basic needs.

The House/Apartment

A 200 year old restored mill. Beautifully designed. Three floors with large living areas.

Garden

An outside deck with chairs and table. Wonderful morning through evening for meals and drinks.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Beautifully furnished with both modern and antique pieces.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The beds were extremely comfortable. There was only one bathroom, and it took some time getting used to having to go down the stairs to use it during the night, but we easily adjusted.

Kitchen

Despite the fact that there was no oven (there was a stove and some small appliances) we enjoyed using the kitchen to cook meals. The owner will soon be installing an oven. We used an outside grill occasionally to roast and bake.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The owners were extremely helpful, and were easily contacted when we ran into any sort of problem. They also have contacts nearby who proved to be invaluable.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I highly recommend this vacation rental. There are few places like it anywhere.

Things to do in this area

Restaurants and beautiful medieval cities and towns. Hikes in the surrounding areas with our children were a favorite of ours. Doing absolutely nothing for a few days comes a close favorite as well.
