3bed/3bath apartment near Spanish Steps, Rome WhenJanuary 2008, 5 nights LocationLeone 3 is a three-bedroom, second floor, apartment in central Rome. It is on the corner of Bocca di Leone and via Borgognona, just one minute from via Condotti and about a five-minute walk from the Spanish Steps. Location is perfect for up-market shopping, and is also about five minutes from the Spagna Metro station. Great location, very safe, very quiet at night. Nearby AmenitiesEverything is on the doorstep - shops, restaurants, groceries. The House/ApartmentThe apartment is very tastefully decorated. Recently renovated, it has high ceilings, lovely furniture and plenty of storage. Heating and air-conditioning - we stayed in January and the apartment was very warm. The Internet photos are very true to life. There is a large lobby, large lounge/dining, small but well-equipped kitchen, and laundry with new washing machine. Three bedrooms: bedroom one has queen, separate walk-in and en suite; bedroom two has two singles, one of which is up a ladder (great for young kids!), and separate bathroom; bedroom three also has two singles and walk-in and en suite. The building has six floors with two apartments to each floor. Leone 2 is next door to Leone 3 and is almost identical except it's two-bedrooms. The owner Marcella (very helpful & friendly) owns both and lives upstairs. You can view the apartment directly Leone 3. GardenNo outside facilities. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasFurniture is very sympathetic to the style of the apartment. Apartment is very clean, and there is a housekeeper who comes every other day. Plenty of room, plenty of furniture. Light and airy. Bedrooms/BathroomsBeds very comfortable. Bathrooms clean and modern. KitchenAlthough the kitchen was relatively small, it was easy to use and everything was provided other than a microwave. High quality pots, pan, crockery and utensils. Problems or BonusesVery pleasantly surprised. The apartment didn't feel at all like a normal rental, with lots of attention to detail. Agency and Representatives (and price)Our agency, Italy-Accom, were very efficient and friendly. Everything was done via email, always a very quick response. No nasty surprises from first enquiry through to arrival at the apartment. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? We are a family of two adults and three children and we would absolutely stay at the apartment again. We would also recommend Italy-Accom. Things to do in this areaWe walked everywhere except to the Vatican, where we used the Metro. Borghese Palace, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Barberini, all easy to get to. Best restaurant - Nino. Best shops - everywhere ! This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
