2bed/2bath apartment near Piazza del Popolo, Rome When01/02/08 – 08/02/08, 7 days LocationA wonderful private residential neighborhood right behind Piazza del Popolo, not far away from the Pincio Park, Villa Medici, Piazza di Spania, and the National Gallery of Modern Art. Nearby AmenitiesPlenty of affordable restaurants, bistros and cafes. We even found an American restaurant we love, T-Bone Station, right on Via Flaminia. The House/ApartmentThe building is beautiful and rather quiet, and the apartment is located on the sixth floor (with an elevator). Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasMy husband and I traveled a lot since we retired, but we have rarely seen such a beautifully furnished apartment. It has much more than a hotel can offer. The living room is quite large, very clean and very luminous, with two big sofas and a table for four. The wooden beamed ceiling and the wooden parquet give it a mountain-villa appearance. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe downstairs bedroom has a queen-size bed, with a very large mirror right behind it. The en-suite bathroom is marvelous, mainly due to its black tiling and elegantly designed wash basin and shower. On the second level there is another double-bed (perfect for a family vacationing with children), and bathroom with a bathtub. KitchenThe kitchen is a dream for anybody who likes cooking at home. It is extremely modern and fully equipped, with slick stainless steel surfaces and black tiles. Problems or BonusesWe didn’t have any problems during our stay there, and the size and location of the apartment were a definite bonus. Agency and Representatives (and price)Great price for a week in two, particularly for such a beautiful spacious flat. Stefano, the agency representative, was very professional, helpful, and made us feel right at home. He also helped us get a feel of Roman life by recommending certain less-famous but absolutely charming attractions. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Definitely. It made for a perfect home in the center of Rome, and we would love to go back one day. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
