2bed/2bath apartment near Colosseum, Rome WhenMarch 29-April 5, 2008, 7 nights LocationThe apartment was in Rome, a short walk from the Colosseum, in fact, you can see the Colosseum from our apartment. Its very close to a bus stop, restaurants and grocery stores. Nearby AmenitiesEverything that you need is close by. We loved that they were local markets that Italians shopped in. The House/ApartmentThe apartment was in very good condition. Its cozy for four people, but we were seeing the sights all the time so the size was not an issue. The apartment looks just like the pictures with everything clean and cared for. We loved the personal touches such as the painted and decorated kitchen table and walls with painting of historical sights in Rome. The kitchen is well-stocked with newer dishes and pots and pans. It was quiet. GardenThere is a tiny balcony with lovely flowers and greens that you can stand on--no room for sitting, but its a nice touch. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasEverything was in good shape and comfortable. There was enough seating for all of us. The apartment was very clean. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe beds are very firm and linens are fresh and clean. One bathroom is very small, but the second one was great, loved the heated towel bar! KitchenWe prepared a few simple meals in the kitchen. The dishes and pots and pans were adequate for what we needed. Problems or BonusesNo surprises -- it's just as pictured. Agency and Representatives (and price)Natalia and Walter were great to work with. When our daughter decided to join us in Rome, we asked to be moved to the bigger apartment from the one bedroom we had originally booked, and they changed us without a problem. When my daughter couldn't get connected to the Internet, they came right over and connected her computer. They were absolutely great to work with -- very anxious to see that we liked the apartment. When we got there, Walter reviewed the sights to see and gave us a list of restaurants nearby and left us with a basketful of travel information. I can't say enough how impressed I was with their concern and organization. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Absolutely! The apartment is great and you can't beat the location. The owners were wonderful. Things to do in this areaYou are so close to the subway and buses, you can get to anywhere you want to go. We walked around the area a lot, too. Lots of restaurants and gelato, too! This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
