1bed/1bath house near Foiano, Tuscany East When23 to 30 June 2007, One week LocationIl Pino is in the midst of a small and select redevelopment of old farm buildings set on a hilltop to the south of Cortona and within easy access of the A1 autostrada and the No75bis towards Lake Trasimeno and Perugia. There are some dozen or so houses within five hectares of private and secluded land. Il Pino is a small but perfect house in an imposing terrace of some five dwellings. Il Pino has its own garden with a barbecue and a table for outside eating. A wonderful house in a perfect setting. Nearby AmenitiesThe nearest amenities are in Foiano which is some 6km away - so a car is a necessity. Foiano has shops (including a Co-op supermarket), restaurants, bars and banks. All you really want on holiday! The House/ApartmentThe house is in the middle of a newly restored terrace of old farm buildings. The front door opens into a large room on the ground floor. It is simply but comfortably furnished - both the living area and the kitchen area. Not only is there very efficient central heating but a log fire too. Upstairs is a surprisingly large landing, a bathroom (shower not bath) and the double bedroom with a wrought iron bed and antique style wardrobe. The interior is traditional Tuscan style - chestnut ceiling beams, tiled floors and wrought iron window and door fittings. You can view the property directly: Il Pino. GardenThere is a sitting area immediately outside the front door - barbecue, wrought iron table and chairs. It was a garden specific to the house but adjacent to other gardens. There was a great pool with sun loungers, umbrellas and shower. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasAll the furniture and fittings were new and, therefore, in excellent condition. The house was clean and comfortable. There was sufficient of everything for two people. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe double bed was very comfortable and the bedroom was tastefully decorated. The single bathroom had everything that was needed - plus a washing machine. KitchenThe kitchen was more of a "kitchen corner" of the single downstairs room. It was well equipped for holiday use bearing in mind that visitors tend to eat out most of the time. Problems or BonusesThe surprise was the wonderful quality of the site and the house itself. The location could not be improved upon and the swimming pool was a real luxury. Agency and Representatives (and price)The agency did not oversell the property - if anything it undersold it! The price we paid was £450 (sterling) for the week in late June 2007. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? We would recommend Il Pino to all and would return ourselves.
