Review 3513: Italy-Accom, Florence Ciompi Apartments

Review by Stephen D from US

apartments near Santa Croce, Florence, Florence

April, 5 nights

Two bed, two bath apartment in the heart of Florence-it took 15 minutes to go to Vivoli for a gelato and return home. A quick five minute walk to Santa Croce and the Duomo. Overlooking Piazza Ciompi with views from the 10 foot windows that extended over Santa Croce steeple to Piazza Michelangelo across the Arno to the hills beyond.

Nearby Amenities

Went to the cafe that was about 50 meters from the front door every morning. The proprietors were as amazing as the espresso and pastries, another restaurant downstairs with bar (quiet bar) and a pastry stop a few yards away. Felt like a local shopping at the grocery store 60 meters away. there were also a few Internet cafes there as well.

The House/Apartment

Historical building was in excellent shape, seemed renovated but maintained charm. Was more quiet than Rome except when Florence won a European Cup football game on a Wednesday but the celebration was fine and if you can't beat them you join them. We watched the game on the TV in the living room with snacks. Felt like a Sunday in the fall back home.

We rented the Apartment Michelangelo at the Ciompi Palace. You can view the apartment directly: Apartment Michelangelo.

No sitting areas or pool but all you had to do was take a few minutes to go to a large park nearby or any other of the wonderful attractions Florence had to offer. We spent most afternoons with the three large windows in the living room open enjoying wine and cheese.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Furniture was in good shape, very comfortable.

As comfortable the beds could be. Bathrooms in great shape.

Yes, could cook full meals if you wanted to but so many restaurants right there.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

On site manager was Kerima, she was amazing. Staying late on Sunday to check us in and very helpful with directions and general knowledge. Thank you Kerima.
