May 9th - May 13th, 2008, 4 nights

This was a perfect location; two blocks to Ponte Vecchio and walking distance to wonderful shops, restaurants, bus stop, attractions. Walking distance to art museums.

Nearby Amenities

There were a number of markets within a short walk to Casetta, everything we wanted was there; cheese, bread, groceries ... very nice.

The House/Apartment

The house was so beautiful and squeaky clean. The furnishings were beautiful and comfortable and we had everything we needed. The owner of the home met us there and reviewed all of the details of the home, gave us walking directions and restaurant recommendations; he was fantastic!

There is a very nice balcony with table and chairs. It was so nice to sit there and hear the church bells ring. The weather was perfect in May and the windows and doors were open. It was amazing.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture was very pretty and comfortable. The house was so clean and well stocked.

The bedroom was very large, the beds could be made as two twin beds or one king bed. The linens were very good quality in the bedroom and the bathroom. The bedroom also had a sitting area and an armoire with plenty of hangers and extra pillows and blankets. The bedroom is air conditioned if needed. There were two nice windows for plenty of natural light and a nice view of the Piazza.

The bathroom is very modern and clean. There is a nice vanity with room for amenities, a heated towel rack and a nice shower with plenty of hot water. There is a large window in the bathroom.

The kitchen was beautiful and modern and very well equipped. There is even a nice washing machine in a room off of the kitchen with a wall safe as well. The washing machine was so quiet.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

I don't know where to begin. Let's start with Lisa. She is amazing. Don't be nervous about booking this way -- forget the hotels. Lisa represented the property very well, no surprises at all. She is so efficient and provides a lot of printed materials. I was very impressed!

Maurizio - WOW! What a guy! Maurizio met us at the home upon arrival and introduced us to the property. Reviewed the alarm system, the appliances, etc. He provided us with a loaner cell phone for our stay and for 4 per day we were given use of a laptop computer and WiFi access. We paid for our cell phone calls at the end of our stay. The cell phone proved to be very valuable. Upon arrival in Florence, exhausted from my trip, I lost my passport!! Maurizio suggested that I use the safe for my passport ... well, imagine my reaction when I discovered my passport was gone. Maurizio handled everything for me. He called and spoke with the cab companies for two days straight hoping to catch a driver on a shift who might remember me. He personally escorted me to the train station and spoke with the police to see if it was turned in. He worked tirelessly on my behalf and after two days he called to tell me that he had my passport! He even had the driver deliver the passport to him and he took it to the house for me!

You will never find this kind of assistance in a hotel. Maurizio is amazing!

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I would stay here again and will stay here again. There is so much to do in Florence. We also spent a day touring the Chianti region ... beautiful. Spend at least a week in Florence, forget about the big cities.

Things to do in this area

We took a cooking class at Villa Pandolfini - nice. We also took a full day tour with a company called Connextions ... ask for Massimo. They are expensive but worth every penny. We were taken to towns that we could have never found on our own. Massimo was amazing.
