apartments in the village Lucignano, Tuscany East

Location

Il Cassero is forms part of the outer wall of a small, hilltop town in central Tuscany. The village, Lucignano, is beautiful and we arrived on the day of the annual festival, which was a fantastic experience.

Nearby Amenities

All essential amenities were within easy walking distance, and there is an excellent restaurant in the town, Il Goccino.

The House/Apartment

The town is very old and Il Cassero is a part of the outer wall of that town, allowing views both into and out of the town from our room. The apartment was in excellent condition, and there were only a few other apartments in the building.

Garden

There was a small public (for guests only) sitting area in the garden, which also served as a parking lot for guests. There was so little traffic, however, that this combination was not objectionable.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The funiture was in excellent condition and comfortable. There were enough soft chairs for all four of us in the cosy sitting area. All areas of the apartment were spotlessly clean and neat.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

We perfer beds more firm than the ones provided, but the bedrooms were nice and the shared bathroom was adequate for us all.

Kitchen

We were very able to prepare full meals for our party of four in the kitchen, and I do not remember lacking anything essential.

Problems or Bonuses

We also arrived on the day of the annual festival (I do not remember the name of the festival), and the parade which circled the town three times was an unforgettable experience. I will send pictures when I have a chance to scan the slides.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Rebecca was prompt and clear in her responses to our questions, which were written in English. In fact, the reality of the place was far better than our expectations.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

We highly recommend it to those who prefer to be away from the tourist crowds without lacking any the expected amenities.

Things to do in this area

We visited many of the famous cities of Tuscany and were able to do so in little time and while enjoying the beauty of the countryside. We highly recommend the restaurant Il Goccino in Lucignano, and anyone who can attend the annual festival of Lucignano will have a marvelous experience.
