3bed/2bath house in Monterchi, Tuscany East

When

July 06 to July 12, 2002, one week

Location

Our rental was in a village. The location was very convenient and the setting spectacular. We found the area convenient to all major attractions (Florence, Siena) and smaller unique cities of the beaten track like Gubbio, Florentino, Assisi, Anghiari.

Nearby Amenities

Fairly close. A pleasant walk and quite convenient.

The House/Apartment

This was a villa. In good condition but frankly a good cleaning into the corners and areas not easily visible would enhance the appearance and experience.

Garden

Yes nice gardens and nice place for outdoor meals, relaxing and reading. Great views.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Yes comfortable and historic. Note comments on cleaning above.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Yes on all counts.

Kitchen

The kitchen was adequate and adequately equipped.

Problems or Bonuses

The hosts were outstanding; warm, friendly accommodating and hospitable. They made us feel at home in the villa and at their home. Wonderful people!

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Our experience certainly met our expectations and even exceeded them in terms of setting and warmth displayed by the hosts.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Already have. The tough part is selling the locations to North Americans. If it isn't Florence and the better known cities it is more challenging.

Things to do in this area

Don't remember the names but the host had great recomendations. I would highlight Anghiari both as a place to see and purchase high quality linens etc. and some great restaurants. Wish I could remember all the names.
