2bed/2bath apartment near Colosseum, Rome

When

June 2nd - 8th, 2008, 1 week

Location

Apartment Colosseum View 1 is located in the historic centre of Rome and simply just down the road from the Colosseum. Just a look outside the window and it is there! It very much felt like the local part of town ... with a local market, grocery, eateries, florist and beauty shops, as well as the metro all within walking distance. The location so close to the Colosseum and feeling so local is perfect for your holiday stay.

Nearby Amenities

Coffee, groceries and restaurants were all so central to the apartment and easily accessed by walking ... the best bit was that there was so much choice just walking a block away!

The House/Apartment

The apartment is located on the first floor (accessed only by stairs, as it is an older building). The apartment itself has been remodeled with all the modern conveniences including dishwasher and washing machine. It is delightfully furnished. The decor has a charming elegance and the owner has herself painted trompe l'oeil in the bedrooms. It is very comfortable for a week's stay, as there are two bedrooms and bathrooms, a lounge, dining and kitchen area. Also from the lounge a small balcony home to outdoor plants. The apartment is fitted with an air conditioning and has Internet connection with great reception.

Garden

The outside area is quite small - with the door opened leading to the balcony it brings the fresh air and a beautiful leafy scene indoors.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Furniture was very comfortable and homely. The apartment and furniture was clean and would provide for the comfort of four people quite well. We were only two people in this apartment.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The beds were a great size and offering good level of comfort and support. The main bathroom was again beautifully and cosily decorated. Fresh towels available.

Kitchen

The kitchen was small and very practical. It even includes a dishwasher and all the crockery and cooking equipment to prepare meals.

Problems or Bonuses

The owner met us upon our arrival and spent time with us explaining the tourist sites and worthwhile attractions to not miss. Also provided with a local mobile ... so that they could make contact if something important is on.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

Directly dealt with the owner, both her and her husband spoke English particularly well. Always prompt and informative with email replies during the booking process and deposit payment. I must say the apartment was more charming in real life.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

To be honest would we stay here again? - absolutely DEFINITELY! It was just delightful, the location was perfect so near to the Colosseum and it felt like it was a local part of town. The apartment was clean and charming and the bonus is we felt we were in a home away from home.

Things to do in this area

There's many great restaurants, historic churches and of course the Colosseum, The Forum, Vittorio Emanuel II, Terme di Caracalla. The metro isn't far and so easily accessible to other main tourist attractions in Rome - in fact you could even walk!
